Azelaic Acid

    💚Very good
    Anti-Acne Agent

    What it is

A naturally occurring dicarboxylic acid found in grains like barley, wheat, and rye. It is a multi-functional ingredient effective for treating acne, rosacea, and hyperpigmentation.

    How it works

Azelaic acid has several mechanisms: it is antibacterial against C. acnes; it normalizes the keratinization process in the follicle, preventing pore blockages; it has potent anti-inflammatory properties that reduce redness; and it inhibits the tyrosinase enzyme to reduce hyperpigmentation.
