Benzoyl Peroxide
What it is
A well-established organic compound used as a first-line topical treatment for mild to moderate acne.
How it works
Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) works by releasing free-radical oxygen into the pore, which is highly effective at killing the anaerobic C. acnes bacteria. It also has keratolytic properties, helping to exfoliate the skin and prevent pore blockages, and is anti-inflammatory.
