Lactic Acid

    Exfoliant
    Moisturizer/Humectant
    pH Adjuster
    AHA

    What it is

An alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from milk. It is known for being a gentler exfoliant than glycolic acid and also has hydrating properties.

    How it works

Like other AHAs, it exfoliates by dissolving the bonds between dead skin cells. Due to its larger molecular size, it penetrates less deeply than glycolic acid, resulting in gentler exfoliation. It also functions as a humectant, helping the skin to retain moisture.

    Pairs well with

    Hyaluronic Acid, Other AHAs
