What it is
A chemical sunscreen agent that absorbs both UVB and some UVA radiation. It is also used to stabilize other UV filters.
How it works
Octocrylene absorbs UV radiation and converts it to heat. It is particularly valued for its ability to stabilize the highly effective but notoriously unstable UVA filter, Avobenzone, preventing it from degrading in sunlight.
